Ellis v. UWPD Among Top Ten 2023 Labor & Employment Verdicts

Terrell Marshall Law Group is proud to announce that the verdict in Ellis v. University of Washington Police Department has been recognized as one of the Top 10 Labor and Employment Verdicts in the United States in 2023! This case was filed on behalf of five Black officers who were subjected to years of racist comments, slurs, stereotyping, and disparaging treatment. In December 2023, after a six-week trial, the jury awarded nearly $16.7 million in economic and emotional distress damages to our clients. The court subsequently awarded an additional $8.8 million in post-trial relief, bringing the total judgment to $25.5 million.
