About this Case:
Terrell Marshall Law Group filed suit against AllianceOne Receivables Management, Inc. (AllianceOne) on behalf of Washington consumers in connection with Defendant’s attempts to collect debts arising from returned checks. Plaintiffs Margaret L. Dibb, Shauna Ovist, and Wendy Gondos alleged that AllianceOne violated the law by sending Notice of Dishonor of Check (NOD) form letters that include a threat of criminal prosecution, that shorten the time for responding that is required by state law, and that fails to include effective notices required by state and federal law.
This case was filed on October 20, 2014. In December 2015 the class and two subclasses were certified. In March 2017 the parties reached an agreement to settle the matter. The settlement was given final approval on July 31, 2017, by the Hon. Robert J. Bryan and settlement checks have been mailed to eligible class members.
