Class Certification Granted to Homeowners Sold Defective Flooring by Lumber Liquidators

December 01, 2017

TMLG, along with co-counsel, recently obtained an order certifying six classes composed of residents of California, Florida, Illinois, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia who purchased Morning Star Strand Bamboo Flooring from Lumber Liquidators between January 1, 2008 and the present.

The plaintiffs claim that the flooring is unable to withstand normal variations in a home’s ambient moisture levels. This defect causes the flooring to warp, shrink, cup, gap and splinter. The plaintiffs also claim that Lumber Liquidators knew about this defect in the flooring but concealed it, representing to customers that the flooring would last for many years – at least as long as its 30-year warranty.

Now customers who purchased Morning Star Strand Bamboo Flooring can pursue their claims against Lumber Liquidators as a group, rather than having to file individual claims.
