Eden Nordby

Contact Information

Eden Nordby joined Terrell Marshall as an associate in 2021 after receiving her J.D. from the University of Washington. During law school, she served as Executive Managing Editor of the Washington Journal of Environmental Law and Policy. Eden received the WSBA Labor & Employment Section 2019 Summer Grant for her public service work and commitment to labor and employment issues. Eden is trained as a mediator and has successfully mediated several individual civil matters through the UW School of Law Mediation Clinic. 

Eden was born and raised in Washington and currently resides in Lynnwood with her husband and their two dogs. When not practicing law, Eden, a trained opera singer, can be found performing at a karaoke bar near you, or on stage with the Seattle Women’s Chorus. A true Northwesterner, Eden also enjoys a homebrewed IPA and an overcast sky.

Wrongful Termination, Discrimination, and Retaliation Cases

Ellis v. University of Washington Police DepartmentFiled in 2021 on behalf of five Black University of Washington police officers who were subjected to years of racist comments, slurs, stereotyping, and disparaging treatment. After a six-week trial in King County Superior Court, the jury awarded $16.7 million in economic and emotional distress damages. The court subsequently awarded an additional $8.8 million in post-trial relief, bringing the total judgment to $25.5 million.
