Mendis v. Schneider National Carriers, Inc.

Terrell Marshall Law Group is pursuing a lawsuit against Schneider National Carriers, Inc. to recover unpaid wages for employees who worked as drivers for Schneider while residing in the state of Washington. Plaintiffs Balapuwaduge Mendis, Michael Feola, Edward Ash and Andrea Arbaugh claim Schneider has engaged in a common scheme of wage and hour violations, including failing to pay drivers for their rest breaks, failing to pay drivers properly for overtime hours worked, and making unlawful deductions to the wages of drivers. The lawsuit is brought under Washington’s wage and hour laws, which ensure the fair treatment of workers. Plaintiffs filed their complaint in December 2014 on behalf of all current and former employees of Schneider National Carriers who, at any time from December 30, 2011 to the present, worked as drivers for the company while residing in the state of Washington.

Case Status:

In February 2017, the Court certified the case as a class action. As a result of that order, Plaintiffs represent the following class: all current and former employees of Schneider National Carriers who, at any time from December 30, 2011 to the present, worked as drivers for the company while residing in the state of Washington. Class Members will receive notice of the pending class action by mail, which will explain their rights and options as members of the certified class. A jury trial is currently scheduled to commence on March 5, 2018.
