Amanda joined Terrell Marshall Law Group in 2016, where she focuses on legal writing at the trial court and appellate levels. Amanda has served as the lead brief writer in many high profile and complex securities, antitrust and consumer cases in federal and state courts throughout the United States. She has handled all aspects of class action practice, including investigations, discovery, expert work, class certification, summary judgment motions, and settlement. She has gained a diverse litigation background over her career that includes cases involving defective products, privacy issues, civil rights, employment disputes, real estate development, construction and environmental issues, and lender-related disputes. 

Before joining Terrell Marshall, Amanda was a partner at Girard Gibbs LLP, where she handled a variety of class action and complex litigation matters. She served as an extern for U.S. District Court Judge Marilyn Hall Patel, and worked as a law clerk for the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the Alameda County District Attorney, and the Hopi Appellate Court Clinic and Tribal Law Project. 

Representative Matters

In re Yahoo Mail Litigation (N.D. Cal.) – Settlement on behalf of individuals who emailed with Yahoo Mail subscribers that requires Yahoo to comply with the California Invasion of Privacy Act. 

In re Sony Pictures Entertainment Data Breach (C.D. Cal.) – Settlement on behalf of current and former employees of Sony Pictures Entertainment whose personal information was compromised in a massive data breach. 

Paeste v. Government of Guam (D. Guam) – Judgment against the Government of Guam and high-ranking officials for taxpayers whose income tax refunds were delayed, often for several years, that was affirmed on appeal. 

In re Lehman Brothers Securities and ERISA Litigation (S.D.N.Y.) – Settlement in lawsuit against UBS Financial Services, Inc. on behalf of investors in Lehman Brothers structured products. 

In re Billitteri v. Securities America, Inc. (N.D. Tex.) – Settlement on behalf of investors in Provident Royalties and Medical Capital securities. 

In re SLM Corporation Securities Litigation (S.D.N.Y.) – Settlement on behalf of investors in Sallie Mae stock between January 18, 2007 and January 23, 2008. 

In re H&R Block Express IRA Litigation (W.D. Mo.) – Settlement requiring repayment of program fees charged to investors in H&R Block’s Express IRA program.
